Today, we're going to analyze Mike Wallace of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He may be a young dynamic playmaker, but he is going to want some serious money soon and the Steelers might not be able to keep him. However, since he is a restricted free agent, the Steelers will likely place a first round tender on Wallace... Read at Jaguars 101

The New York Yankees have signed 23 year-old utility player Burt Reynolds to a minor league deal, tweets Kevin Goldstein.

Reynolds has no relation to the famous actor/comedian Burt Reynolds, but he is the cousin of Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano.

Drafted in the 30th round of the 2006 MLB Amateur Draft by the Washington Nationals, he has played third base, right field, left field, and first base throughout his minor league career. Last season in the Canadian-American Association league, he batted .232 with 13 home runs and 36 RBI in 71 games.

While he might draw some attention because he shares his name with a famous celebrity, he will just be minor league depth for the Yankees organization.

Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson was selected to the All Star Game as a reserve, but he will not be able to participate due to the soreness in his left knee.  The tendinitis is also forcing Johnson to miss the Hawks next two games against the New York Knicks and the Orlando Magic.  Joe will not be participating in any All Star Weekend related activities either, to allow some time for his knee to rest.  Joe Johnson had an MRI exam on Tuesday and no structural damage was found.

Filling in for him in the starting rotation with the Atlanta Hawks will be Willie Green.  Green is a good shooter and should bring some energy to a team who appears to be lacking in the motivation department.

The rumors have been swirling around for about two months.  Many a sportscaster would have given you odds that Tuomo Ruutu would be dealt away but instead the Carolina Hurricanes and Tuomo Ruutu have come to terms.  And the terms are: four more years and 4.75 million dollars a year.

The contract also says that Ruutu cannot be traded without his permission for the first three years of the new deal.  General Manager Jim Rutherford said when he spoke to Ruutu a few weeks ago that he had expressed an interest in staying with the team.   Rutherford also has said he thought the team as it is was somewhat special and he wasn't about to "blow up" the team.

"He's an important player to our team," Rutherford said."And he's the type of player who, long term, would take a long time to replace."

Unfortunately, Ruutu was injured last week and won't be back with the team for about two... Read at Hurricanes 101

Exactly how far into the madness can this Ohio State Buckeyes basketball team March? Will the Buckeyes “Big 3” be enough to take them to the Promised Land if they are all on the same page?

When the Ohio State men’s basketball team are at the top of their collective game, and are working together, they are one of the toughest teams in the nation to beat. There have only been a handful of games this season where this teams “Big 3” have all shown up at the same time.

We all know that in today’s basketball world, “Big 3” is a commonly used term, and a strategy use by many teams as a formula to build a team around.

Columbus, Ohio may be a college town with a college basketball team, but it certainly has its own “Big 3”. Jared Sullinger, Deshaun Thomas, and William Buford are as good as a three man tandem in the entire country when they are on their game.

Getting them all on the same page at the same time has proved to... Read at Buckeyes 101
